Wantage Ground Frame
The ground frame at Wantage Road was just off the east end of the Swindon Panel area, near the 60-1/4 mile post, just east of the crossovers. It controlled an unsignalled trailing siding connection in the Down Main.
It was released by Reading Panel (released number 621), with key configuration D.
It had four levers, of which two were spare. The other two were the points (traps and trailing points in the Down Main) and an FPL on the main line end. There were no signals. (At the time of the diagram from which this information was taken, reversible signalling had already been installed. It is not yet known whether the points in the Down Main were fitted with an FPL before this time.)
