311 points form a facing crossover between the Up and Down Main Lines at South Marston.
They facilitate access to the Euroterminal from the Down Main, as well as splitting the reversible section between Swindon East and Bourton for moves from the DM to the UM(R) or the UM to the DM(R).
The points were planned to be brought into use on 14 February 2000, as described in GWS.15. However, the work was not brought into use due to 'construction difficulties':
