Origin
DM.68 was a 4-aspect semi-automatic signal commissioned at Swindon MAS Stage 1 on 14 November 1966[1]. At that stage it was supervised by Uffington SB. It was the protecting signal for Knighton Level Crossing on the Down Main. It was semi-automatic and fitted with an emergency replacement switch.
Controlled passed to Swindon Panel under Swindon MAS Stage 5 on 3rd March 1968.

Conversion to Controlled
It became SN.16 on 2 August 1970.
Conversion to Automatic
Once Knighton Level Crossing had closed, the signal was converted back to an automatic, and re-numbered back to DM.68 on 21 November 1976.
