Alterations in connection with Reversible Signalling
From 19 June 1977 the signal was mounted on a right-hand cantilever, in readiness for the future installation of SN.693R on the same structure.
A new signal, SN.93, was brought into use over the weekend of 22-24 October 1977, further in connection with the installation of reversible signalling. At this stage, SN.89's route to UM.65 was altered to read to SN.93. UM.68, in rear of SN.89, was converted to a four-aspect, as there was the insufficient braking distance between SN.89 and SN.93.
The reversible signalling was brought into use in 1981 [4].
Aspect Sequence
YY aspect introduced on 13 Sep 1993 does not seem to have been brought into use on that date: "When SN.89 is displaying a green aspect, SN.93 may be displaying a yellow or green aspect" [1]. At what date was the YY brought into use, if ever?
