Origin
UM.70 was an automatic signal commissioned at Swindon MAS Stage 1 on 14 November 1966[1]. At that stage it was supervised by Uffington SB.
It was the protecting signal for Ashbury Level Crossing and Ground Frame on the Up Main.
Controlled passed to Swindon Panel under Swindon MAS Stage 5 on 3rd March 1968.
Conversion to Automatic
UM.70 became an automatic signal (from what?) on 2 August 1970.
The signal is shown as already an automatic in the resignalling notice S.2498, so unknown what it was converted to an automatic from...
