The Society uses a simulator driven by [[http://www.simsig.co.uk/ SimSig]] to simulate the responses of the panel to the action of the signalmen (ie, route-setting, etc) and the simulation of the 'outside world' (ie, trains moving, etc).

While the remit of Reference Library is currently limited to the documentation of Swindon MAS history, as opposed to Swindon Panel Society history, the technical detail of the simulator hardware and software is documented here for the benefit of others undertaking similar projects.
