Description

The ground frame worked 346 points, the trailing connection in the Down Goods from the Down Through Siding at Swindon West.

The ground frame was mechanical throughout its life.

Origin

The ground frame was provided when a new connection was provided from the Down Siding at the same time as the Down Relief was de-passengerised and converted to a Down Goods between 1 and 8 May 1976[1]

Abolition

The ground frame was abolished when the points were removed, after a long period of disuse, from 05.15 on Monday 12 December 2011:
