Thingley GF when mechanical.

Description

This ground frame controls the trailing connection in the Up Main from Thingley Sidings.

The frame is released from Swindon Panel, and slots SN.201 and SN.286 (and previously SN.203.

Taking out of use

At some point the frame was taken out of use.

Bringing back into use

The frame was brought back into use in September 1974:

1975 Thingley Remodelling

Thingley junction was remodelled in 1975, at which point a new 421 connection to the Admiraly Sidings (still worked by the GF) was installed (although not brought into use straight away):

Conversion from mechanical to power-operated

The ground frame was originally mechanical, but converted to motor operation (clamplocks) at 05.35 on Monday 8 June 2009.
