Origin

SN.62A and SN.62B were a set of splitting banner repeater signals on the Down Main between SN.60 and SN.62, applying to the latter signal.

They were removed when DM.81 (which replaced SN.60 soon before, was given the capability to flash single yellow when the next signal, SN.62, was displaying proceed with the route set towards the Down Badminton. This took place in May 1979.

The numbering of the banners is unconventional by modern-day standards, when the pair combined would be numbered SN.62BR.

In early scheme plans for the Swindon MAS scheme the banners are not shown, and instead SN.60 is shown as a splitting distant.
