Origin

...

The signal was on the Down Goods Spur, just east of Swindon. It regulated moves out of the spur towards the Down Goods (up direction) or towards the Down Through Siding (up direction, slotted by the Down Sidings Ground Frame).

Alterations in connection with new Platform 4

This signal was marooned on a section of line that was temporarily out of use between 0800 Wednesday 9 October 2002 until 0600 Monday 4 November. The Down Through Siding and Down Goods was out of use from 76m 70c to the west end of the station to allow alterations in connection with the closure of the Down Goods and building of the Down Main platform.
